Event Planning Guidelines  

The Capital City MG Club encourages members to consider planning a club event at locations in and around the greater Austin area in order to diversify the event locations and satisfy the interests of all Club members.

To advance this effort, the following guidelines are offered for those members interested in organizing an event, so that there is order in such planning. The guidelines include the following:

1. Consult the Events page on the CCMGC website to determine a suitable date for the proposed event. Checking the Events already scheduled will ensure that the proposed event will not interfere with a Club Sponsored Event or a Non-Club Event already on the Events calendar.
2. Consult with the Events Coordinator (EC), as listed in the Leadership Team page on the CCMGC web site, to discuss your proposed date for the event.
3. Before the proposed event is sent to the EC, it must be fleshed out with as much detail as possible regarding the type of event that is being planned (a drive, a lunch, a visit to a place, etc.), its location, meeting place, and all other pertinent information.
4. Following the compilation of all the necessary details, the proposed event can be communicated to the EC.
5. The organizer must allow a suitable period between the event being posted on the CCMGC web site and the event date as agreed jointly by the EC and the event planner.
6. All events should be posted on the Events page of the CCMGC web site a minimum of two weeks prior to the event to allow members sufficient time to plan their attendance.
7. The organizer should take a few photographs of the participants and the event site at the event, and thereafter the photos should be sent to the editor of Oil Drips together with a short paragraph describing the event. This will give the editor of Oil Drips some additional news to post onto the website.
